As the world's energy demand continues to increase, there is a constant demand for petroleum engineers to power the globe's cities and businesses, even with the global climate change issue
Petroleum engineers are involved in all facets of oil exploration and development, from identifying and characterizing the reservoir through drilling and completion to production and data analytical using the modern approach of the application of machine learning and artificial intelligent. The curriculum courses prepare graduates for careers in petroleum and energy-resource fields.
The petroleum department offers a World Class engineering education, research, and services supported by Missouri S&T University. The department staff members are leading researchers and industry professionals who have worked around the world with 35+ years of experience. It’s the upmost goal is to provide the undergraduates with the required hands-on-knowledge and experience to actively join the industrial domain inside and outside Egypt for the continuous improvement process.
The curriculum is recently elaborated to include new courses to coop with the United Nations (UN) sustainable development goals (SDG)in order to support the Petroleum industry direction in the climate change challenges. In addition, the current number of credit hours of the curriculum is 164 CHR. The curriculum is also allowing outstanding students to complete their graduation requirements in about 4 years. FUE is providing a platform for life-long learning with emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approach, project management, ethical conduct, and health, safety and environmental issues.
The major career arears and job opportunities for PE students are:
- Drilling Engineering
- Reservoir Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Surface Facility and pipelines Engineering
- Data analytical
- Project management
