The objective of SCM Program is to provide in-depth coverage of all established disciplines of Structural Engineering & Construction Management such as Structural design either concrete or steel, Highway Engineering, Building Construction Technology, Project Management for Civil Engineering, Project Financing, and Engineering Economy, Construction Contracts, Project Planning, and Scheduling, Construction Equipment Management, Construction Methods, Risk Management, Construction Cost Estimation, and Control, Safety Management in Construction, etc.
The Department of Structural Engineering and Construction Management (SCM Program qualifies for the acquisition of the Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Division at Egyptian Engineers’ Syndicate. The program applies the system of accredited hours where studying is based on curricula and accredited hours, not on years. Some curricula are elective and others are compulsory in all levels of the study either for the Department, the Faculty, or the University, and the major taking into Structural Engineering and consideration management which are designed to fit the construction industry needs.
The total number of accredited hours per the program is 164 Credit hours. The number of accredited hours in one main semester must not be more than 21 hours for an outstanding student to have a chance of completing their program within four academic years and it will not be less than 12 hours. A student registers the curricula he/she would like to study after consultation with the academic guide. The Program offers many curricula during the selective summer semester that are determined after consultation with students.
