The electrical power engineering program aims to graduate outstanding electrical power engineers who can compete nationally and regionally and are well acquainted with the job market professionally and ethically.
Fields of Study
Electrical Power Engineering program covers a broad spectrum of topics and areas, including: Electrical Machines: transformers, induction, dc, and synchronous machines; Power Electronics, Electric Motor Drives, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC); Power system analysis, operation, protection and control; Power delivery: high voltage engineering, switchgear and substations, and transmission and distribution systems; Renewable Energy Systems; Industrial communication network; and Electric vehicles technologies.
Our Graduates are working in top engineering, electrical energy, and industrial companies including design & consultation offices, electrical work construction companies, industrial companies, public electric utilities, renewable energy plants, automation companies, power and energy research offices.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
EPE program is equipped with modern laboratories to provide the students with the required laboratory skills needed in their engineering profession. The labs are equipped with advanced equipment controlled by computers and/or SCADA systems.
The available labs include, and not limited to:
- Basic Electrical and Electronics Lab
- Measurements and Instrumentations Lab
- Electrical Machines Lab
- Power systems Simulator Lab
- Power electronics and drives Lab
- Projects Lab
- Microprocessors, Microcontrollers and Embedded systems Lab
- Computers’ Laboratories
Student Activities
There are several extra-curricular activities that students can get involved in outside of their degree to enhance skills, knowledge and overall experience. The Future University student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE_FUE), Women in Engineering (WIE) group and Robotic Club (Roboclub) aim to promote the career opportunities and to raise awareness and enhance the skills of new developments in the field among electrical engineering students by managing events among students, faculty, and industry.
Program Educational Objective of the Electrical Power Engineering Program
The Electrical Engineering Department at the Future University in Egypt have adopted the following program educational objectives for the Electrical Power Engineering program.
1. Carry a successful engineering career in industry, academic and/or research institutes, or government, and satisfy employer's expectations.
2. Practice lifelong learning and pursue advanced training and/or postgraduate studies.
3. Demonstrate social and environmental responsibilities and ethical professional conduct.
Student Outcomes
At the time of graduation, our students will attain the following:
1. ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
2. ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
3. ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
4. ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
5. ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
6. ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
7. ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
